Solar Eclipse

In the chart cast for Washington, D.C., this Solar Eclipse falls in the Sixth House. This is the house of labor and jobs, having a great bearing upon the interests of the working classes. There are mixed indicators here. Several aspects show tireless determination and making planned changes to create more jobs. There appears to be new starts, jobs creation and a stronger work force. However, Mercury conjunct South Node suggests that many young workers are still unemployed, underemployed or underpaid. Without enough jobs, this could lead to mischief among the lower classes and raise crime rates. Mars conjoined with the South Node denotes accidents or trouble in connection with the military, army, navy, national services; first responders or police, subjects also governed under the Sixth House. Public health may also be a concern.

With Scorpio rising and ruler Pluto in the Second House, the nation is motivated by financial matters, working to reorganize and regenerate a more robust economy. We feel powerful and ready to put forth constructive efforts. While there are encouraging signs for economic growth with Pluto in trine to the eclipse, and improving monetary prospects with the Sun semi-sextile Jupiter, we may worry or feel insecure due to the tension created by Uranus square Pluto.

With Venus in the Seventh House square Neptune, diplomatic activity abroad may give problems or there could be problems with other powers over trade and finance. There may be concerns about a rival or enemy gaining advantage. Neptune in opposition to the Midheaven suggests that political feeling in the country is fluctuating and the government could lose ground in some way.

Uranus in the Fifth House suggests volatility in the Stock Market. This is also the house that rules children’s interests, amusements, sports and entertainment, so there might be some sudden or unexpected developments surrounding these subject matters. Due to Uranus ruling the Third House, sudden trouble or bad weather may disrupt communications or travel.

Lunar Eclipse

This Lunar Eclipse has Neptune rising in the First House in a close applying square with the Sun and Moon, suggesting confusion in national affairs. Neptune in this position often coincides with frauds, swindles, crimes and scandals. Neptune rules the Second House of money matters while Uranus falls in the Second House, squared by Pluto from the Twelfth House of secret enemies. This suggests strange occurrences or sudden trouble impacting financial institutions or causing uneasiness that impacts trade. Business and $ matters requires careful handling. We certainly are into changing times with new and different kinds of threats nowadays in this electronic world, when one fake tweet can cause the markets to nosedive. Some similar incident is not out of the question. Disturbances in foreign affairs are escalating. There are positives in this chart, like increased dedication to children and their interests, with possible benefits to schools. But, the outstanding feature about this lunar eclipse is that square, impacting houses 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, and 10. Disorder may be noticed in several areas. Stormy weather, crop damage, or harsh land conditions are possible. Public health may also be of concern since the Moon rules the Sixth.

In the chart cast for Washington, D.C., this Aries New Moon falls in the First House, the strongest and most influential position of the chart. This suggests a dynamic and active period ahead with the U.S. playing an important role in world developments. The New Moon is joined by Mars and Venus in the First House and Mars takes the lead in its own sign. Military matters will attract attention with Mars in the First House. New military maneuvers, strategies and objectives are noticed with Sun conjunct Mars while ruling the Sixth House. There may be movement of the army or navy, with warlike rumors or danger of war. The First House combo suggests a martial and aggressive spirit at home and in foreign affairs. Uranus in the First House in square to Pluto adds to a rather turbulent spirit. There may be a great increase of expenditures for new military operations with Venus conjunct Mars.

With many planets in the First House, the U.S. has concerns about some aspect of its identity, with issues to resolve or something to prove. It is fortunate that this New Moon is sextile the USA Mars; a good time to make military changes and good for recruitment. This improves chances of success and advantage in any conflict. New Moon Mercury is rising in the First House, so this indicates a great increase of noteworthy news stories. Speechmaking and discussions are plentiful as well. The President will travel and speak and some of this may be done spontaneously. With Pluto in the Tenth House in square to Uranus, the government has many difficulties to contend with. There are concerns about a rise in violence, rebellions against authority and other disturbances to the peace. Saturn in a critical degree in the Eighth House suggests concerns surrounding the death of a state official, or a prominent person of age.

There is an increase of travel generally in the country, whether by land, air or sea. Jupiter in the Third House increases travel and it is especially good for literature, education and science benefits.

Having so many planets in the First House position imparts energy and activity into the country. People will feel and demonstrate this increase in power. In many ways we will notice this major trend of new beginnings and new enterprise taking place. This New Moon period would be excellent for new ventures of a Mars nature; ventures that are action-oriented and inspirationally motivated, requiring courage and initiative. This could be a good period for those engaged in Mars ruled activities such as athletes, police, firefighters, mechanics or those who use sharp tools or instruments in their work. They may experience advancements or improved conditions.

2013 Aries Ingress

Overall, this New Moon shows many changes in the country and a great deal of activity that is of importance to the people. Due to the great preponderance of planets in Aries and Mars in the First House, the major theme for the period is for activities of a passionate and somewhat aggressive nature. This New Moon chart closely resembles the Aries Ingress chart that also announced a warlike tone with sudden disturbances in foreign affairs, unsure who to trust, and with the likelihood of new military offenses. Actions taken this month by the U.S. may be of a mostly preparatory nature since mutable signs fall on the chart angles.

In weather-related affairs, the Aries Ingress suggests fluctuating and changeable weather systems with a tendency to wet conditions this Spring. This comes from the Moon in the Fourth House. The Moon is square Uranus, which is square Pluto, also contributing to the possibility for record-breaking weather or extreme weather and land conditions.

The Full Moon occurs April 25, 2013 at 5° Scorpio and this Full Moon is also a Lunar Eclipse. The things shown in the New Moon often start to come to fruition at the time of the Full Moon. This is a harsh Lunar Eclipse. Financial affairs come to the forefront, especially problematic surrounding financial debt, and a martial spirit abroad may cause much unrest.

Obama and other politicians; first suspect cleared, another being investigated. A fraudulent tweet due to AP’s account being hacked, declaring explosions in the White House and an injured Obama, sent the Stock Market into a nose dive for a few minutes on Apr. 23, 2013. The U.S. is looking into whether Syria used WMD on its own people, which would be considered crossing a red line and the necessity for U.S. intervention. Budget cuts cause huge airline traffic delays so the furlough of air traffic controllers is lifted. A strong housing market and auto sales boost U.S. economy. Stock Market soaring, jobs report encouraging and unemployment reported as 7.5%. Still, the Fed Reserve warns that fiscal policies are restraining economic growth. Geo W. Bush Library opens. Weather: Flooding in the Midwest, unusual weather generally with lots of snow in some areas into May. Wildfires in CA.

New Moon

In the chart cast for Washington, D.C., this Pisces New Moon falls in the Eighth House with four other planets, creating a Stellium. This brings focus to the national debt. Neptune on the cusp indicates uncertainties with regard to dealing with debt, as well as confusions surrounding subjects like interest rates, taxes, and insurance. We note that a critical degree falls on this cusp, while Venus is in a critical degree as well. This suggests tension when it comes to financial affairs generally. There is a buzz of action and reaction regarding money matters, with new developments and changes.

Other indicators of stress revolving around money matters includes the critical degree falling on the cusp of the Second House of the national economy. We see that an Aries Point degree falls on the cusp of the Ninth House of religion, suggesting historical events and turning points in that realm. Mars is conjunct that cusp. This, along with Retrograde Mercury square Jupiter suggests religious discord and division. There is much disquiet and questions directed toward religion and the churches that come up for settlement. Society as a whole is going through changes in attitude concerning religion and philosophy.

The Ninth House also rules long distance travel and shipping, so that aviation or shipping accidents are a possibility with Mars in the degree of troublesome fixed star Scheat. This house rules coastal conditions, immigration and the courts, so watch for excitement surrounding these affairs. Decision-making complications as well as stress and climax attach to these subjects.

The Third House has an Aries Point degree on that cusp. Communications are ruled by the Third House. There may be many discussions about sexual scandals, frauds or mysterious crimes coming to light. This New Moon squares USA Mars and opposes USA Neptune, suggesting a period of conflict and uncertainty. With NM Saturn square NM Ascendant there is a need to develop perseverance toward one constructive goal.

New Moon

Calculating the chart for Washington, D.C., Sagittarius is rising. In the nation, there is a desire for stimulation and our ambitions are geared to large-scale goals. With Uranus trine the Ascendant, there may be bursts of purposeful action. With Jupiter sextile Uranus, this can lead to success, advancement or sudden good fortune though Jupiter square Mars means new ventures hold risk. There will be the launching of new projects and undertakings important to the American people.

We find the New Moon falls in the Third House along with Neptune, Mars, Mercury and Chiron. This brings a big focus to communications and transport, with new developments and changes in the coming four weeks. This house rules the way a country communicates and all forms of transportation. Due to afflictions involving planets in this house, there appears to be a disturbance coming from this house. Jupiter squares Mars and Mercury, which are conjunct, raising the potential for national disputes and bickering. Educational issues cause controversy. There are humanitarian discussions and emotional communications, with sharp exchanges, arguments and taking sides. Extremism may be noted when it comes to concerns about crimes at schools or ills affecting children. This may partly have to do with debates over whether there should be guns in schools. All activities of a mercurial nature are ramped up and this includes the interests of our youth. With Mercury trine Saturn, improved conditions can be established.

There may also be outbursts of sensationalism in the media. The same aspects may mean a dispute with another nation since Jupiter falls on the cusp of the Seventh. Business relationships and agreements may be problematic, such as relating to a merger.

The Third House rules so many important subjects that we will likely see several manifestations. Things appear erratic. There could be an increase of accidents involving locomotion. This could mean some misfortune in aviation or involving river traffic. The Post Office is ruled by the Third, so that discontent or trouble might affect those workers. Tools used for communications, such as computers or phones, may encounter outages or bugs. This could be a challenging period for those involved in occupations linked to communications or transport, including possible strikes. At the same time, some improvements may come as a result of difficulties encountered.

The New Moon itself falls in a critical degree. It is also in square to the lunar nodes. This is a Moon Wobble, which often coincides with extreme weather or other dire events. These factors suggest a somewhat unstable period. This New Moon is also square the November Solar Eclipse in Scorpio in the Sixth House of jobs, military and health matters. This lunation period may bring problems relating to that eclipse. A health related issue may be of concern since this chart shows Venus ruling the Sixth House while square Saturn, an indication that social and family life are adversely affected. The sorrowful South Node is also in the Sixth House and in a critical degree. The closest planetary aspect in this chart is Mars square Jupiter, associated with the spread of an infectious illness. The transiting North Node happens also to be conjunct the previous eclipse degree; often a recipe for increased earthquakes. This continues a trend noted last month for record-breaking weather conditions, with sudden changes or reversals. It may be that weather-related events contribute to communications and transportation interruptions or outages since the Third House rules environmental losses from weather damage or storms.

The President appears to be very active since Mercury rules the Tenth House and is involved in so many aspects. He may travel a lot and lead many discussions. He may have concerns about a foreign enemy, with words of provocation between the two nations. Mars is square the Ascendant as is Mercury, suggesting irritation and confrontation, while both of these are square USA Uranus near the Seventh House cusp with NM Jupiter, and USA Neptune falls on the NM Midheaven. This could mean a sudden upset or unexpected trouble with an open enemy. The fixed star Markab falls on the cusp of the Fourth House. Markab is associated with danger from fire, weapons or explosions so that there may be a concern about Homeland Security. Fortunately, Jupiter sextile Uranus and trine Venus helps in maintaining the peace.

As far as financial affairs, Saturn in the Eleventh House is square Venus. The aspect itself is unfortunate for money matters and business generally and in this position suggests there are delays in legislation when it comes to the budget and money matters.

New Moon

In the lunation chart cast for Washington, D.C., Gemini is rising. This suggests a busy time in the country, with much movement, running errands, making appointments and dealing with paperwork or documents. People are of a practical mind and striving for material goals, especially motivated in their efforts by concerns surrounding taxes and insurance. The chart ruler, Mercury, falls in the Eighth House along with the Sun and Moon, so there is this big focus on the skillful management of taxes and insurance in this seeking of economic security. There are adjustments to make, tax increases and many discussions in the country about these economic matters and how businesses will be impacted. From the government concerned about the national debt on down, there is almost single-minded focus on such subjects. As taxpaying citizens may be trying to protect whatever nest egg they have accumulated, including pensions and Social Security, emotions run high. There are indications of some restlessness, discontent and confusion in tending to these details as well as an urgency to take action. People are cautious and do what they can to protect themselves.

The Eighth House rules many subjects, including death and mortality rates. With the Sun in the Eighth House, there could be sickness or deaths of important leaders or VIPs. The power, reputation or life of a prominent person may be in jeopardy. Increased mortality among the elderly is another possibility. Due to Saturn on the cusp of the Sixth House of health, the month may be severe for colds and flu since Saturn is square Mars, contributing to mortality rates. In the nation, there is a curiosity about life and death matters, with discussions on these subjects; some discussions possibly ongoing from previous tragic events.

Neptune falling in the Tenth House of the President and government suggests there is some uncertainty about the position of our leaders. They may lose support or there could be a failure of legislative measures. Neptune in the Tenth House sometimes means the national honor or prestige will suffer in some way. Sudden changes or difficult positions with regard to legislative reforms are also indicated by Uranus in the Eleventh House, ruling the legislative branches; Congress and Senate. There could be party splits. There are risks or difficulties in national life.

Venus rules the Fifth House and occupies the Seventh House, therefore its square to Uranus indicates there will be break ups among the engaged and an increase of divorces. There may be scandals or irregular love affairs that lead to divorce court or actions for breach of promises. Some separation may occur or a partnership bond may be broken through death. We notice that a critical degree falls on the cusp of the Fifth House, the house that rules not only engagements, but also pleasures, sports and amusements of all sorts. Capricorn Ingress

Let’s see now, as of December 21, 2012, we are operating under the Capricorn Ingress chart. We can look to this chart to find general weather conditions for the coming two and a half months – until March 20, 2013. This chart shows Uranus in the Fourth House of weather. This suggests sudden wind, rain, snow, sudden changes or reversals and record breaking weather conditions. Mercury in an angular house increases windy conditions and Pluto in the First House often coincides with weather extremes affecting many. Be prepared for unusual conditions. This position of Uranus is also associated with earthquakes, explosions or the fall of buildings.

The Full Moon occurs January 26, 2013 at 7° Leo. The things shown in the New Moon chart often come to fruition around the Full Moon. This chart shows us to be attached to our homes for the security it represents. The lunation squares Saturn. There could be misfortune for some land owners, possibly due to storms. We have a Moon Wobble Feb. 9 that may contribute to bad weather.

In your own chart, note the house where this Capricorn New Moon falls on January 11, 2013. The lunation will concentrate your focus on the matters ruled by this house and to the people represented by the house. There are new beginnings here. You will be inspired to new undertakings and projects relating to this house. With so many planets in Capricorn, you will likely be very cautious and security minded as to how you go about this, with much thoughtfulness and discussions in advance since you understand that taking a certain amount of responsibility is part of the package. New Moon

In the lunation chart cast for Washington, D.C., Scorpio is rising, showing a time of important changes and a great struggle to improve the status quo. In the country there is a tremendous intensity to achieve aims, with great stamina and willpower demonstrated. Saturn is rising, showing discontent, with concerns about poverty, want of work and trade but with Saturn sextile Pluto and in mutual reception with Pluto, this gives excellent perseverance and a progressive attitude among people, enabling the nation to create its own conditions. This chart, with most of the planets in the eastern hemisphere indicates Karma sowing. There’s a need to do what is right now, or pay the price later.

There is an emphasis on keeping things orderly and stable. Saturn on the Ascendant and in Scorpio increases the nation’s focus on financial responsibilities. Debts are heavy and this New Moon falls in the Second House, bringing fluctuations and new developments impacting the financial condition of the nation. Revenues, commerce, trade, banking and the national wealth are ruled by this house. The New Moon is semi-square Saturn, an indication that things are somewhat depressed. National expenditures are high and there is urgency to solve financial problems with this NM opposing USA Mars in the NM Eighth House. However, there is willingness to battle through any odds and Sagittarius keeps optimism high.

Mercury in the First House brings busy political meetings and debates, with political excitement and public discussions. Mercury rules the Eleventh House of the legislative branches of government so that the trine to Uranus suggests legislation can be planned, discussed or passed more easily as misunderstandings can be cleared up and compromises reached. This lunation features a rarity with mutual receptions among three sets of planets, which may make possible a deal that averts the Fiscal Cliff. An announcement might even come before the House recesses on December 14. If not by then, the issue could drag to the last minute.

Venus is also in the First House. In conjunction with Mercury, this helps increase trade. It is somewhat favorable for money matters and for public holidays. Venus helps increase sociability and restores peace. Enterprises and activities connected with amusements and theaters increase.

Mercury in the First House also brings literary and educational affairs to the forefront. Subject matters ruled by Mercury become prominent. In the country there is much motivation through concerns revolving around education and travel. While there may be difficulties, Mercury trine Uranus shows a good period for discoveries and scientific inventions. Benefits for railways, aviation or motoring might result. It is good for new literary projects and activities. With Uranus in the Fifth House while Pisces is on the cusp, the study of mysticism is favored.

Uranus in the Fifth House is often a disturbing influence upon schools, theaters or amusements, bringing accidents or surprising incidences that affects the interests of children or places of recreation. Questions pertaining to schools or education may arise. Uranus brings an element of unpredictability though entertainment venues appear to be active and well-attended.  This house also rules the Stock Market, which may be volatile.

Weather wise, we continue to see wet influences with Neptune in the Fourth House. Weather is unusual or out of the ordinary with Aquarius on this cusp. Wind may be a factor and Neptune often indicates freakish weather systems. An angular Saturn in Scorpio is also a factor, showing extreme weather. This is another wet influence; cold, damp, gloomy and widespread.

Due to the New Moon in semi-square to Saturn, we can expect some adversities linked to the Third House with Capricorn on that cusp, ruled by Saturn. We also note Pluto and Mars in the Third House. Communications and transport are ruled by the Third and it may be that disruptions and inconveniences are the result of storm damage.

There is a bit of bright news on the jobs front. Mars, which rules the Sixth House, is semi-sextile the New Moon. This may mean new business ventures and more efficiency when it comes to creating jobs. This also suggests new maneuvers or reforms in military affairs.

Overall, this lunation features many positive aspects, showing some advances in trade and money affairs. The proud reputation of the U.S. may be tested, but signs are encouraging it will pass even if this involves more government control. There are indicators of some “dis-ease” or sticky situations in foreign affairs. This may be more noticeable after the Full Moon.

The Full Moon occurs December 28, 2012 at 7° Cancer, with the Moon in the Seventh House, opposing Pluto and the Sun, suggesting foreign troubles or a martial spirit abroad. On a brighter side, this chart also features Venus rising in the First House and in Sagittarius; promoting contentment, peace and sociability for America this holiday season.

Sec of State, Hillary Clinton hospitalized after a fall/concussion leads to a blood clot. Weather: Cold weather sets in across the country. With landslides in WA, a blizzard pounds the Midwest, causing flight delays and making travel difficult in the days leading up to Christmas. Continuing storms spawn dozens of tornadoes in the south. Entertainment: 2012 Box Office Hits Record 10.8 Billion. Other: Consumer confidence down. Unemployment claims down. DOW down on Fiscal Cliff fears. Finally, a deal is struck and Obama signs a bill to avert the Fiscal Cliff on New Year’s Day. The DOW rebounds. The 113th Congress sworn is in. Unemployment remains at 7.8%.

New Moon

In the chart cast for Washington, D.C., this eclipse falls in the Sixth House. Since the house of the eclipse often shows where things are out of balance, this suggests that jobs continues to be an issue, with concerns about how to regenerate and revitalize the area. Jobs in reconstruction, digging, or upgrading utilities may be created. This eclipse falls in a critical degree, an indication of how crucial it is to get more people back to work. The Sixth House also rules public health as well as military matters, so there is great focus on these subjects.

The South Node is rising on the Ascendant while in the degree of Caput Algol, the most evil fixed star in the heavens, giving an impression of much poverty in the nation. Neptune in the Tenth House reflects little credit for the current administration. There may be failures on the records.

Mercury rules the Second House. In square to Neptune, financial frauds or delusions are exposed. Financial issues give problems and there is much ill temper when it comes to taxation, expenditures, insurance and debts and how best to deal with economic matters.

Mars has unfavorable significations when falling in the Eighth House at the time of eclipse. It is associated with the deaths of soldiers, military men, those in occupations in the iron and steel industry, medical men or those in trades to do with fire. Deaths by accidents or fire sometimes follow. There may also be the deaths of enemies. This Sixth House eclipse is sesquiquad Uranus so that military matters give problems to the government; friends may be lost or enemies made.

Transiting Mars stimulates the square between Uranus and Pluto from November 23 – 27, which may bring a sudden disturbance. There may be public excitement in connection with crimes as some will respond to this influence in a negatively aggressive way. Take care now.

Lunar Eclipse

The Lunar Eclipse of November 28, 2012 falling at 6° Gemini, shows important national matters at hand with Capricorn rising. The eclipse in the Fifth House squares Neptune in the Second House. National finance gives trouble, with possible fluctuations in stocks, shares and investments.

There may be some public ceremony to take place with Venus in the Tenth House. As Lord of this eclipse, Mercury is in Scorpio in the Tenth House as well. There are speeches about changes and transformations to come; about upgrading conditions. Not all of the news about what is required will be taken well. Lord Mercury squares USA Moon as it ties in closely to a Venus/Mars square in the preceding Libra Ingress; some misfortune may overshadow the social side of life.

There is still a lot of crime and much of this may be related to labor troubles. And, foreign affairs give trouble, with questions about alliances. There could be disturbing changes between nations. The Libra Ingress also suggested brewing financial problems with other nations. As Mars transits Capricorn during November and December, it stimulates several eclipses from late in 2009 to 2011. Financial stress is present and again, there appear to be problems with other nations.

Overall, Scorpio themes are emphasized. There is a drive for renewal and people feel they can make a rise in life, improving circumstances and the status quo. The Lunar Eclipse chart suggests success through perseverance. The political and economic power structure landscape is changing. The nation comes across as having a powerful will and the capacity to recover from hard times.

In your own chart, check the house where the Scorpio eclipse falls at 21° Scorpio. The affairs of this house are undergoing changes for the coming year or longer. You are evolving at a little faster pace in the matters signified by this house. If you’ve put things off in the past dealing with these subjects, you may now feel hard pressed to deal with them. On the other hand, you now have the drive to do so. It is time to upgrade and improve this area. Working in cooperation with other people or partners can increase your effectiveness and benefit the other person too. Israel assassinates a Hamas leader to slow down attacks from Gaza City into Israel; this escalates situation, with rockets launched into Jerusalem Nov. 17, which Israel shoots down and then bombards Gaza. Many citizens killed. Sec of State Clinton works with Egypt to broker a cease fire that goes into effect before Thanksgiving. President Obama and top congressional leaders begin meetings to talk about how to avert the “Fiscal Cliff” that would send taxes higher on everyone starting January 1. With high hopes for a deal, stocks rebound Nov. 28/29. Some Republicans vow to block Susan Rice as new Sec of State due to inaccuracies in her reporting on the Benghazi, Libya attacks in September. Median family wealth is now at a 43 yr low but signs the economy is growing and home prices rebounding. Debris from the Japan tsunami nearly two years ago is washing up onto a beach in Hawaii. Two top managers of BP convicted of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the deaths of 11 in the gulf oil rig explosion in 2010. East Coast is still recovering from Hurricane Sandy. Obama has tough words for Syria in the event it would use WMD on its own people. Storms on the West Coast. Train derailment spills hazardous vinyl chloride in NJ. Unsafe storage of explosive materials forces evacuations in Louisiana town. A worker strike at two of the busiest ports in the country in CA over technical jobs being outsourced brings a halt to goods and products making it to their destinations in the U.S. Unemployment drops to 7.7%. U.S. Drone kills top Al Qaeda leader.

New Moon

In the chart cast for Washington, D.C., the October New Moon falls in the Twelfth House. This house has special reference to public welfare groups, hospitals, prisons and charitable institutions. Many suffer through want or sickness, but with New Moon trine Jupiter and Neptune, this suggests benefits to these institutions and improvements in how they are managed. The Twelfth House also refers to secret enemies, at home or abroad, and with New Moon conjunct Saturn; there could be concerns about secret plots or schemes affecting the nation.

With Scorpio rising, change is in the air. Saturn falls on the Ascendant and in Scorpio increases the nation’s focus on financial responsibilities. Debts are heavy. With Saturn in difficult aspects to Venus and Jupiter people are concerned about money matters; expenses are high and this will have a bearing on the election, with voters supporting the candidate they feel is better for the economy. Mars in the Second opposing Jupiter in the Eighth also suggests difficulties affecting finances. A number of positive aspects including Saturn trine Neptune and Saturn in mutual reception with Pluto, ruler of the Second House, may help overcome problems. The government appears to have more power, stepping in to take control of situations and restore order.

Mercury in the First House brings an increase to news and intellectual affairs. There are public meetings, public discussions and much speechmaking. (The last two presidential debates are held Oct. 16 and Oct. 22.) Mercury sextile Venus helps to improve goodwill and remove grievances. In the country, there is a serious outlook combined with ambition, intensity and determination. People are very interested in gaining information and expressing their views. News organizations see profits.

Saturn in good aspect to Neptune suggests that the democratic side of national life gains advantage. People benefit through political changes or reforms. There are several features that appear favorable for Obama. Saturn is the traditional ruler of the Democratic Party and it holds a more prominent position than Jupiter, ruler of the Republican Party. Then, Mars trine Uranus gives energy and success to the ruling power of the nation therefore it is considered a good time to hold an election. Mars and Uranus trine the Midheaven, and Jupiter trine the Sun also appears favorable for Obama since the Sun rules the Tenth House. Either way, there are progressive themes suggesting that business resumes once the election is over. More gets done.

Speaking of the election, on Election Day 2012, Mercury turns retrograde. Mercury was retrograde on Election Day 2000, when the outcome remained up in the air for a time due to snafus in the voting process in Florida, with a need for recounts. There are other dynamic aspects on Election Day 2012. First of all, Obama’s Mars opposes Romney’s Sun, reflecting fierce competition between them. On November 6, transiting Mars in Sagittarius squares that opposition as it opposes the USA Mars and squares USA Neptune. This suggests tension, friction, or contention through democratic processes, not to mention an element of confusion and even possible danger afoot. JFK and Robert Kennedy were assassinated under similar Mars aspects to USA Mars and USA Neptune. There could be a loony out there. Both candidates need to play it very safe.

In fact, we may be aware of rising tensions in the days leading up to the election. The Full Moon falls on October 29, 2012. With Pisces rising, ruling Neptune is square Mercury. This is an aspect of fraudulent activities and unpleasant occurrences. There may be disorder or anxiety in national and foreign affairs. There is trouble at the Capital. This Full Moon in Taurus/Scorpio indicates financial tensions. The way ahead is foggy. News may be unreliable. Beware of making decisions based on erroneous information. With Uranus rising, the peace may be disturbed. Possibly there is some political scheming amidst a real problem.

In other areas, based on the October New Moon, there may be more rogue attacks or military accidents with Pluto square the cusp of the Sixth House, where Uranus falls close by. Military expenditures may increase. Since this house also rules health, there may be peculiar disorders affecting the health of the country.

There may be concern over the death of a prominent official or functionary; this might be someone of wealth, nobility, or prominence or someone of advanced age or of long service. This comes from a combination of Saturn conjunct the NM, NM Jupiter in the Eighth House and a Full Moon featuring Saturn conjunct the Sun in the Eighth House. Saturn conjunct a luminary often casts a bit of gloom over the social side of the nation. A political scandal is another possibility.

In weather, Neptune in the Fourth House is a wet influence. Saturn in an angular house also has an influence. This is another wet, cool and somewhat gloomy influence and with Saturn in Scorpio, extreme weather is possible. Storms or adverse conditions affecting the lands may be especially notable on or around the Full Moon of Oct. 29.

In your own chart, note the house where this New Moon at 22° Libra falls. The lunation will bring an emphasis and focus to the matters ruled by the house in which it falls. Your energy will be directed to the affairs of that house and you may feel energized and optimistic about starting something new. Great progress could be made and it is an active time, at least until the Full Moon of October 29, when progress slows or obstacles are met. George McGovern dies, a long-time political figure who once ran for President. More rogue attacks on US soldiers in Afghanistan. Last two debates leave Obama and Romney in a dead heat. Gas prices are declining but still highest ever for this time of year. Suspect arrested in connection with Libya attack. Barnes & Noble pin machines hacked. BofA is being sued for 1 billion by U.S. for allegedly selling bad loans to Fannie & Freddie. Facebook regains some losses. Hurricane Sandy makes landfall on NJ shore on Oct. 29 Full Moon, causing devastating damage in several states, killing more than 100 people and leaving over 8 million without power. Dubbed ‘Frankenstorm’, Statin Island critically affected. Candidates suspend campaigns and Obama visits affected areas to survey damage; pledges to supply help from FEMA or whatever is necessary. Campaigns resume. On Election Day, in a close race, Obama gets the majority of electoral votes to win re-election. Dow has worst day in over a year on November 7. Emergency gas rationing in NY as a result of power outages from storm. Another Nor’easter causes more damage and power outages to already affected areas of East coast. General Petraeus resigns post of CIA Chief, admitting to an extramarital affair. His resignation comes just before he was to testify about the Benghazi attacks two months ago. News comes out that Iran fired on a US drone a week before the election.

New Moon

In the chart cast for Washington, D.C., this New Moon falls in the Fifth House. This house rules speculation, children and their interests, education, schools and places of amusement. For the U.S. this indicates increased interest and activity revolving around the Stock Market, theaters, children, schools and education. The Sun is usually very strong for good when placed in the Fifth House, but in square to Jupiter, an indication of trouble or losses affecting these subject matters. Theaters, amusements or entertainers may suffer losses or some crime or scandal connected with women or children may arise. Schools may be adversely affected. Changing conditions or new developments might adversely impact markets. Watch Sept. 20 for possible developments.

Several planets occupy the Fifth and Sixth Houses of the NM chart, bringing strong emphasis to these sectors. The Sixth House corresponds naturally to the sign Virgo and has special reference to public health and general conditions of the working classes. It also rules the national services; Army, Navy, etc. With Mars in the Sixth House in square to Venus, this denotes disharmony affecting these affairs. Workers are unhappy. Problems or accidents may impact on military affairs. Problems affecting the health of the nation may arise through an inflammatory or feverish disease. Saturn in the Sixth House suggests discontent among workers, health problems and dissatisfactions connected with the military. Saturn trine Neptune suggests improved regulations in these sectors. Saturn square USA Pluto alludes to getting pulled into political struggles.

As we approach Election Day 2012, it is interesting how the charts reflect major topics of interest and how these subject matters will have to be addressed by the presidential contenders. This is likely to be a rough and tumble political ride, with great contention and unruliness in debates. Having taken a peek at the Libra Ingress, commencing September 22, 2012 and having a three-month influence, it shows an inharmonious period, with a prominent Mars square Venus, while the Sun is square Moon and Pluto. The Sun also opposes Uranus, reflecting the competition between Obama and Romney, who is the representative for the party out of power. Ultimately, the Sun is stronger as the afflictions to Uranus are greater; a good sign for Obama.

This New Moon of September 15 shows Gemini rising, which brings a busy four weeks, with many speeches and public meetings. The news media and press is active and taxpaying citizens are restless; interested in intellectual affairs and gaining information. Political excitement is high. We may hear many eloquent speeches but the question voters have is whether the candidate has the practical experience to back his claims.

Jupiter in the First House often brings some benefit to the nation’s people and it raises optimism. Jupiter square the NM and inconjunct Mars tends to lessen the benefits, increases expenditures and requires adjustments to help the working classes. Neptune in a close square to the Ascendant is more worrisome. This often means a confusing state of affairs, deceptions, brewing scandals, or sometimes the discovery of enemies.

The ongoing square between Uranus and Pluto comes exact a few days into this NM period, giving this aspect great influence this month. It is associated with sudden trouble, disruptive changes, causing excitement and bringing disturbances to governments, often political or economical in nature. It tends toward turbulence, lawlessness, murders, suicides and ill-temper globally. Chances for conflicts increase. For the U.S., trouble could come in various ways. As this aspect was stimulated by Mars in July, there came the horrific event in Aurora, CO. The Full Moon falls on September 29, 2012 at 7° Aries, linking with the Uranus/Pluto square. With Cancer rising, a Grand Cross in angular houses warns of a disturbance or conflict for the U.S. within two weeks. Pluto in the Seventh House of war and peace suggests a national dispute, a conflict in foreign affairs, or dealing with an aggressor. The things shown in the New Moon chart often start to show fruit at the Full Moon. Watch the headlines and take good care now.

Libra Ingress 2012

Weather wise this month, Venus is a factor, falling on the cusp of the Fourth House. This is a warm, moist influence. Venus is square Black Moon Lilith and square Mars, a stormy combination. Neptune also has an influence, in an angular house. It is another wet influence, tending to freakish weather events with potential flooding. The Libra Ingress also features Neptune in the Fourth House, underscoring the potential for floods.

In your own chart, check the house where this New Moon at 23° Virgo falls. The lunation will bring a focus to these house affairs for the coming four weeks. You may feel very inspired about getting organized in this area. The New Moon is usually a very positive influence, stimulating you to start new undertakings in the matters ruled by the house where it falls. And, there are increased exchanges and activity with the people represented by this house. Certainly, you will give much thought to these activities and to your new ideas. Since the New Moon is square Jupiter, just be sure that you’ve worked out the details. This Virgo NM ushers in a good time to study and broaden your knowledge too. There is a tendency to dabble in this and that however, so it might take an effort to study deeply on one subject. Starting a new health regimen or finding ways to work more efficiently are other great ways to capitalize on the Virgo NM.  You can also check to see how this New Moon aspects your natal planets. If in fortunate trine to your Sun, this will bring some personal benefits but if square your Mercury, possible miscommunications or misunderstandings. Syria bombings. Citizen protests in Iran, where currency values dropped 40% in one week, as a result of U.S. sanctions over Iran’s nuclear activities. 2000 U.S. troops have died in Afghanistan. A secret video of Romney speaking at a fund-raiser in which he comments about the 47% of dependent people in the U.S. puts him on the defense. The iPhone 5 launches September 21, bringing half the sales expected and flawed maps. Hiring remains weak, with unemployment rising in half the states, including 7 of 11 swing states. Median household income drops to $50K. NFL and Referees union agree on deal to end lockout Sept. 26. Shuttle Endeavor goes into retirement. American Airlines has host of problems that grounds half its fleet for inspections, causing delays. TSA agents caught stealing passenger’s valuables. Political contributions go to wrong hands; scam websites taking donations. A shootout at the Mexican border kills border patrol agent Nicholas Ivy. A school shooting in OK junior high leaves 1 dead. A man kills 5 in Minneapolis, then himself. A police chase in Phoenix ends with man committing suicide. Romney wins first debate. Unemployment falls to 7.8%. Attack on Consulate in Libya on 9-11 now said to be terror attack and not a protest over a film. VP debate set for Oct. 11. Health: Ground beef recall due to E. Coli risk. PB recall due to Salmonella. An outbreak of deadly Meningitis, caused by contaminated syringes containing steroids for back pain. Weather: record high temps in 2012. Cold spell in early October impacts much of the country. Arctic ice caps melting at record breaking rate.

New Moon

In the chart cast for Washington, D.C., the Leo New Moon falls in the Tenth House. For the country, this brings focus to the reputation and status of the nation. It increases the power of the President and gains him support if not popularity. Energy is raised and directed toward specific tasks or goals. New initiatives tend to bring favorable results.

With Mercury on the Midheaven this is a busy period of political meetings and debates. The President will travel and will be involved in ceremonies. There will be important speeches and some of these may be about the U.S. asserting its military power or taking an offensive stance. This comes from NM Mercury conjunct the USA North Node on the NM Midheaven. Possibly this is in response to some threat of violence as we note that Mars and Saturn are in conjunction in the Twelfth House as they are also in a close orb to the cusp of the First House.

Mars conjunct Saturn is frequently a difficult influence and the Twelfth House is a dangerous position. It often means that a country suffers from secret enemies or conspiracies abroad. There may be jealousy or hatred abroad. We get agreement from Venus, which rules the Seventh House and is afflicted by Uranus and Pluto. Foreign affairs cause anxiety and there could be a breach of promise. Here at home, it is likely to be a rough, tough political ride.

There are multiple indicators in this chart that the military may be called into action. Fortunately, the Sun in sextile to Mars helps strengthen the military. But we see that as ruler of the Sixth House of the military, Mars is in a critical degree, suggesting that such matters may be serious and grave. Uranus also falls on the cusp of the Sixth House while forming squares to Pluto and Venus. This gives a sense of some nervousness or hyperactivity, when new military initiatives or actions come about suddenly. New vessels may be built as well.

The Sixth House rules the nation’s health as well as jobs and the working classes. Again with ruling Mars in a critical degree and an afflicted Uranus on the cusp, these matters are critical; prone to bring problems or conflicts. NM Saturn square the USA Mercury is gloomy for jobs.

With Mercury on the Midheaven there is a surge of news although much of it is apt to be bad. There is an increase of crime in the country with lawlessness, riots or outrages against those in authority. Family life suffers. Instability causes not only emotional dissatisfactions but could lead to break ups or separations, some of which could come about by way of suicides or murders. This comes from an afflicted Uranus ruling the Fourth House. Then, with Neptune ruling the Fifth House, in square to the nodes and in the degree of the nodes, concerns about a tragedy involving children or a catastrophe revolving around entertainment venues is possible. Some of these concerns may be ongoing and linked back to the horrific events in Aurora, CO last month.

Saturn with Mars in the Twelfth House also shows some trouble to do with prisons or in hospitals. There could be many deaths in one of these places. There could also be a loss of repute or scandal for some official overseeing one of these institutions.

You can tell by Pluto ruling the First House of the people and the general situation in the country that conditions leave much to be desired due to Pluto’s hard aspects to Uranus, Venus and NM. There is dissatisfaction among the various classes of society. There are increased divorces, the employment situation looks gloomy and problems may come about involving travel. The economy and financial affairs are challenging. Foreign trade or taxes on imports/exports may give trouble.

On the bright side, with Mercury trine Uranus there may be new inventions or scientific breakthroughs in health related matters. There could also be benefits to aviation and motoring along the lines of discovery. This is favorable for new literary projects too. Then, with Venus trine Neptune and Sun sextile Saturn in the Twelfth House, there are benefits for the poorer classes or for those in need and this may come from the smooth passage of new legislation.

In weather, it could be extreme and very changeable. With Uranus and Mercury influencing the weather the most, there is apt to be winds of high velocity as well as sudden rain, lightning or record-breaking weather events. Neptune in Pisces in the Fourth suggests possible flooding or freakish weather systems. With Pluto in the Third, storms may cause great environmental damage and cause power outages. It is a good idea to be prepared just in case. A Moon Wobble on August 22, 2012 may contribute to dire weather conditions around this date.

The Full Moon falls on August 31, 2012 at 8° Pisces. The things shown in the New Moon chart often come to fruition at the time of the Full Moon. Saturn in the First House is square Venus. Business and trade may fall off, contributing to discontent. The FM is square USA Uranus so it could be an edgy time.

In your own chart, check the house where the New Moon of August 17, 2012 falls at 25° Leo. A New Moon brings a focus to the affairs ruled by the house in which it falls. Your attention is drawn to these matters and there are involvements with the people ruled by the house too. You see new opportunities and have the urge to start something new. The sextile from Mars infuses energy and it’s a good time to make changes. Take on projects that require a lot of energy. You can also check to see if this NM forms a close aspect to any of your natal planets. The planet involved and the nature of the aspect will also provide you with information about how the coming month is likely to go. You can combine that with the house placement of the NM. For instance, let’s say the NM falls in your Fifth House while in trine to your Mercury or Venus. This suggests an enjoyable month of socializing or new creative projects. Later, the U.S. halts the training of some Afghan forces until there’s a solution to the strained alliance. A political firestorm starts from a Republican congressman saying that abortion should be illegal even in the event of rape because a woman’s body has a way of resisting pregnancy in such a situation. Both parties take fire; he is asked to suspend his campaign. A group of Republican congressmen swim in the sea of Galilee, one nude, while on a business trip; forced to apologize. Condoleeza Rice and Darla Moore (financier) become the first women ever allowed to join the elite Augusta Golf Club, home of the American Masters. A shooting outside the Empire State Building; an angry man kills a former co-worker and he is killed by police. The Republican National Convention in Tampa introduces Romney’s running mate, Paul Ryan. Romney and Obama are in a dead heat. The Democratic National Convention features impressive speeches by former President Clinton and by Obama but a dismal jobs report dampens enthusiasm. Teacher’s strike in Chicago. Entertainment news: Rosy O’Donald has heart attack. Comedian, Phillis Diller dies. Lance Armstrong stripped of all previous titles for using performance enhancing drugs. Neil Armstrong dies and is laid to rest August 31, 2012, the date of a Calendar Blue Moon. Health: West Nile Virus of epidemic proportions. Weather: Fires in the West and Hurricane Isaac in the East. Isaac makes landfall in Louisiana, drenching nearby states and leaving thousands without power. A Haboob (huge dust storm) swallows much of Phoenix.
