Moon Valley is a nice little community in northern Phoenix, " the Valley of the
Sun". I think I've found my perfect niche in
this valley within a valley and what a "coincidence" that the names of
both are so friendly with my astrology. I didn't realize I was living in Moon
Valley until after the fact.
On one side of Moon Valley lies North Mountain
where a 20 minute hike up the mountain is rewarded with a view for miles in every direction.
It's one of my favorite places and I always get a
little euphoric up there. Just driving through the area lifts my spirits and
I've concluded that it may contain a natural vortex, similar to the vortices in
Sedona, Arizona. I don't think it's " just me..."
A vortex is the funnel shape created by whirling fluid or by the motion of
spiraling energy. An energy vortex is the intersection of multiple ley lines, creating a
powerful spiraling of energy coming up out of the earth that leaves a measurable magnetic residue. Quite intense, the effects can be felt within a half mile
of one of these
energy centers. People come from all over the world to visit the four major Sedona vortices
and to perform spiritual rituals. At any time, you can hike up Bell Rock in
Sedona, Arizona and find the remains of meditation circles fashioned from stones. A
balancing element at the center of a vortex is imparted to visitors,
strengthening the inner being and results can
be felt for days afterward....
A week or so after writing this introduction, I happened to read
Sylvia Browne's book, The Other Side and Back. She discusses
"Imprinting", a sort of holding zone for the accumulation of powerful
vibrations, positive or negative,
resulting in an energy center similar to a vortex. By the time I was through
reading the
paragraph, I decided she'd just explained my experience of North Mountain
perfectly. It has especially positive imprinting! Be sure to visit the park if you come to
Phoenix or hike the trail just north of the park. And, if you live here, let me know if you've experienced similar
vibrations on North Mountain.
I've been an astrologer since 1975 and when I first
opened a book on the
subject, it was to prove to a friend that astrology was not a subject to be
taken seriously. Instead, this proved to be a turning point for me and astrology became
my passion.
During the years I studied and passed my exams, I did personal astrology
reports for just about everyone I knew.
My "real" job furnished lots of clients and I charged $10 for a chart
reading that took hours to complete. It was good practice though
and twenty years later,
whenever I run into one of these old friends, they usually still have the original
hand-written natal report.
Having found that I loved to write, I decided to take it a step further and try my hand at writing an article for an
astrology magazine. In those days, I
breathed, slept and consumed astrology, and so with great ritual, I drew up my
first serious Horary chart to ask the question "Can I be a successful
writer?" I still have that chart in an old notebook as a memento. An
emphatic "Yes!" That was in April '86 and three months later my first
submission was purchased by American Astrology. I've continued to write for the
popular magazines, including Dell Horoscope, Astrology Your Daily Horoscope,
& Astrology Today.

My first book, Predicting
Events with Astrology, was written with the intention to write the kind
of book I'd liked to have found early in my own studies; all of the essentials
in a concise reference and easy to
grasp. Feedback and reviews
have been encouraging, with many intermediates grasping the forecasting
techniques for the first time. This book shows how to find the operating
or active aspects in the progressions and

My second book, Identifying Planetary
Triggers, is a companion
volume to the first, with focus on planetary returns, with a chapter devoted to
each return; Moon through
Saturn. The Diurnal or personal daily return is
introduced. Three sections of the book cover
progressions, returns and transits with a special section on transits by Dr. J.
Heber Smith, astrology teacher to famed Evangeline Adams. His work, which was
written a century ago, is unedited and in his original voice. A rival of Ms

Throughout the book, there's an emphasis to accurately timing events.
Maybe it's the skeptic in me but I've always particularly loved astrological
research; especially getting to the nitty gritty of forecasting. I guess my specialty is in the area of
progressions, transits and returns. I've found them to be the most consistently
reliable for tracing upcoming trends and have spent years using and testing them together.
I've found that the return chart
(any return chart) pivots upon the progressed chart. For example, you can use
the Mars Return with the progressed chart to find the timing of Mars ruled
events. Well, not to get overly technical here, I share all of the best
techniques and
secrets I've learned about forecasting in my books.

If you're brand new to astrology, you'll need some beginner books to go along with
mine. Although easy to understand and follow, you still need to know the basics. I've listed lots of good books to preview or order in the Library,
or you can learn some basics at Astrology Novice. In
fact, you might want to go to the Tutorial.
Celeste Teal is the pen name I created due to my long and
difficult last name. People can neither spell nor pronounce it, a pretty
good indicator for the decision. The
name is a spin off of "celestial" that came to me at just the right
moment. Of course I made note of the
time Celeste became a working entity as I do of any important event. Celeste has a very interesting horoscope and in
corroboration, we plan to write an essay on the Life of a
Pseudonym later on. Her horoscope shows Aquarius rising and a 12th house chart ruler. Is that astrology at work or
what?!
Something too amusing not to share and something you'd appreciate even more if
you knew my husband is the story of a group of us going to a psychic fair a few
months after Celeste arrived on the scene. Just beforehand, his sister had been
teasing him that he would soon be known as Mr. Teal. Well, one of the
psychics at the show told him that she saw he was involved with two women.
Laughing about it at the time and assuming she'd somehow gotten her wires
crossed, we later figured out that Celeste was the other
woman. I think I can handle that :)
Well, I guess that about sums up a self-introduction, other than
my love of spiritual and meditative work, creative visualization,
crystal collecting and now Feng Shui. In
one web site, I hope to cater to all the wonderful friends I've met in both astrology and metaphysics. So for you who've made it this far,

about the Moon and its phases.
The New Moon or "low ebb" of the Moon signals preparation for a new
cycle. From there is followed an increase of energy. People in general are more
receptive to new ideas and it's a good time to initiate new projects. The New
Moon is very positive in nature.
From the New Moon to the Full Moon, the Moon is "increasing" in
light. Our bodies tend to absorb and retain water as it nears and responds to the hot and
dry influence of the First Quarter Moon.
The last New Moon fell July 2nd at 11º
Cancer.

If the New Moon falls on a planet in your horoscope, especially if an eclipse, you'll experience a sense of rejuvenation and renewed spirit relating
to the nature of the planet. The affairs of the house in your horoscope
where the New Moon occurs absorbs your attention; there are new beginnings and exciting new
possibilities. An eclipse falling on a planet magnifies the planet

At the "high tide" of the Full Moon, things set in motion at the
New Moon tend to come to a completion
or maturation. Important decisions
are made now as one sees a situation in full light. We tend to be more self-absorbed
from now until the New Moon as we're intent on tying up loose ends.
From now until the New Moon, energy is decreasing as the Moon decreases in light. The body tends to
lose
a couple of pounds as it nears and responds to the cool, moist influence of the Third
Quarter Moon. A good time to start a diet. Sleep is more sound and it is time to reap the harvests.
The last Full Moon fell June 18th at 27º Sagittarius, with the Sun in the
opposite sign at 27º Gemini. The
next Full Moon occurs July 18th at 26º Capricorn, with the Sun in the opposite
sign at 26º Cancer. Watch Lunations for more about the

If the Full Moon occurs on a planet in your horoscope, especially if an eclipse, you may notice a slight separating trend in regard to the people or affairs
ruled by the planet. The same may be noted in regard to the opposing houses in
your horoscope occupied by the Sun and Moon. There is finalization. An eclipse
falling on a planet magnifies the planet potential and sensitizes it to

Now don't laugh, but if you want your hair to grow faster, healthier and
fuller, get your trim just prior to the Full Moon. At least try it before you
laugh. (Hair Stylists, forgive me :)
Everyone's heard the expression "once in a blue moon", but what is
a "blue" Moon anyway? Well, it's a little on the rare side and happens
only when two Full Moons occur within the same month. The second one is called
the Blue Moon to distinguish it from the first. The Blue Moon functions similar to a Full
Moon.
A recent Blue Moon took place on July 31st, 2004 in Aquarius and the last Blue Moon
occurred May 31st, 2007 in the sign of Sagittarius. The next Blue Moon
occurs December 31st of 2009 in the sign of Cancer.
