The chart cast for Washington D.C. shows this New Moon in the Third House of communication and transportation, bringing new developments and lots of activity! This house rules all forms and methods related to movement, transport, communication; things that enables or makes it easier for us to be mobile. With the New Moon sextile Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius, this may mean new original, progressive ideas or innovations in technologies, such as in cars or phone devices, etc. We may hear of new means of transport or new means of conveying news.

All things connected to communication and transport are activated; news media, railways, the post office, education, etc. The president may travel or becomes actively involved in matters connected to these subjects. People are talking and expressing themselves. Some sensationalized stories in the tabloids or in literature are likely too. Social networking is popular and Internet traffic busy. This could mean benefits or favorable developments impacting communications and transportation this month. There may be benefits to heads of departments. Some of the good may spill over; bringing increases in revenue through sales of vehicles or new communications gadgets.

Not everything is perfect since the New Moon is square Saturn and Jupiter, which has a generally disturbing effect on trade and commerce, creating financial uncertainty for businesses and the government that has a negative impact on growth. Many companies are unsure whether to move forward or hold back. Finding an effective remedy for the weak economy is illusive.

Those squares to this Third House New Moon could also bring travel accidents or problems of a financial nature for some companies in the communications and transport sectors; the Post Office to give one example. But, there are some favorable indicators this month and the Sun is a strong and helpful influence. This should prove a favorable month for those in occupations ruled by Uranus; inventors, technicians, electricians, those in aeronautics or who follow out of the ordinary or uncommon occupations.

The chart shows Scorpio rising with the ruler Pluto in the Second House, so the people and the nation are motivated by financial considerations. Pluto forms a sextile to Venus, trine to Jupiter and trine to the Midheaven, which strengthens the country and is of some benefit to citizens and taxpayers. The nation demonstrates a certain kind of resilience.

There is lots of discussion on economic matters. Again, things are imperfect but there are signs of hope. There may be some signs of improvement in business and monetary affairs.

With Mars overhead in the Tenth House, military matters come up for review and there may be rumors of war. It’s an edgy time in foreign relationships. Mars is square USA Mars, which falls in the New Moon Seventh House along with USA Uranus. The Tenth House rules the president, so the configuration suggests he might be drawn into a conflict in foreign affairs. Mars is also on his natal Mars, sometimes leading to agitation. Mars is on USA Neptune so there could be some secretive actions taken.

Jupiter in the Fifth House is a slightly iffy influence. This could bring benefits for children and their interests or advantages in connection with entertainment venues. But, there could be disputes over religious education in schools or failures in speculative ventures.

Venus in the Fourth House also promises some good influences upon housing and property markets, which is ruled by this house. This is a generally good influence for families. This may also be good for Republicans since the Fourth House rules the party out of power.

Venus in Pisces is a wet influence on weather and land conditions; could be a bit much for some crops and in agriculture. As we saw last month, the Capricorn Ingress suggested a winter of extreme weather lasting well into March. So far, we’ve seen twisters, floods, extreme snowfall all at once, more tornadoes and more blizzard conditions in some parts.

Uranus in the Fourth House is usually not a good influence. In Aries, it could mean an explosion in a public building, or protests against the government; however Uranus is not terribly afflicted so this may only help the Republicans or contribute to problems for the Obama administration.

A lot of times the things shown in the New Moon chart come to fruition at the Full Moon. This month’s Full Moon falls February 7, 2012 at 18° Leo. The Moon is in the First House opposing the Sun and Mercury in the Seventh House. Diplomatic activity abroad may give trouble. There may be trouble impacting schools and education or travel accidents and problems. It’s a good time to take care if traveling.

In your own chart, check the natal house where this New Moon falls at 2° Aquarius. This New Moon will stimulate those affairs and draw your attention to them for the next four weeks. This is an area where new developments are taking place. The houses in your chart that are ruled by Jupiter and Saturn may be where you experience some difficulties while the house ruled by Uranus may indicate opportunities. Also, check to see if this lunation forms a major aspect to any of your natal planets. A close aspect, within 3 -5 degrees is influential. The nature of the planet may reveal the subject matters you’ll be involved with while the type of aspect shows the tone. For example, an opposition to Neptune may create uncertainties or intrigue, while an opposition to Venus may mean $ expenses. A square to Mars might mean car problems while a trine to Moon could bring happy family developments. One thing to keep in mind this month is that Mars turns retrograde in Virgo. Starting a brand new venture or enterprise now may fail to achieve the desired results or extra time and great efforts are required. This Mars is best for reevaluating work methods, finding ways to be more efficient, and for reassessing the prioritization of one’s time and energy.
