October/November U.S. Forecast & New Moon Report

The New Moon of October 26, 2011 falls at 3° Scorpio and this NM shows influences in effect for the latter part of October and the first part of November, until the Solar Eclipse on November 25. In the chart cast for Washington D.C., this Scorpio New Moon falls in the Eighth House. The New Moon by house shows where changes and new developments take place and this is the house that rules pensions, benefits, taxes and interest rates as well as financial relations with other countries. There is a double emphasis on financial concerns with NM in Scorpio and the Eighth House. Pressure is building for the Super Committee to make proposals to reduce the national deficit by November 23, 2011. Unless they develop a credible long term plan to reduce the deficit and vote on these proposals by December 23, automatic spending cuts will kick in, affecting defense and non-defense programs. These are the kinds of concerns coming to the forefront.

The closest aspect of the NM is the opposition to Jupiter in the Second House of national wealth so success may not come easily. It may be hard to prioritize. Miscalculations are a risk. Trade and commerce are disturbed. Mercury and Venus fall in the Eighth House in square to Mars, indicating angry discussions, disputes and high excitement. With Venus square Mars there is an emphasis on extravagance and high expenditures. Finances are disturbed and there are serious differences of opinion. Watch for high activity and potential conflicts around October 28 when several aspects come exact, including Sun opposing Jupiter. Finances are in the spotlight.

With mutable signs on the four angles, this is a time of fluctuations with things in flux. There’s an air of confusion with Pisces rising and Neptune ruling. USA Mars falls on the cusp of the New Moon Fourth House, perhaps an indication of growing agitation within the country and likely continuing demonstrations by citizens in major cities stemming from the Occupy Wall Street movement. New Moon Mars is afflicted in the Sixth House, which underscores such themes. An afflicted Mars in this house suggests suffering and rising discontent among the working classes. Uranus in the First House square Pluto is a third indicator of a spirit of turbulence and discontent in the country. Sudden rebellion, upsets, fanaticism or serious crimes may occur.

Mars in the Sixth House also forewarns of potential trouble connected to the army or navy due to the squares of Mars to Venus and Mercury. A sextile of Mars to Saturn is often a sign of strength to the military in connection with strategies that are well formulated, but the square aspects show problems and Mars falls in a critical degree. The matters of the houses ruled or occupied by a planet in a critical degree tend to be grave, serious, and climactic. There is a hint toward wasting military strength on farfetched ambitions. Since the health of the country is also ruled by the Sixth House, there may be feverish or infectious diseases or complaints. An afflicted Mars in the Sixth House frequently heralds trouble for the health of the nation.

October/November New Moon

New Moon

When planets fall in the Eighth House of a lunation, it is often a sign of deaths in certain circles, with each of the planets representing certain kinds of people. This is the house that rules the death rate. Here we have four planets in the Eighth House. There may be an increased number of deaths; among women, children, in publishing circles or for travelers. There may be the death of a very important person or notable women. A wealthy person or artist may be at risk. Some of these may come unexpectedly or may even mean an increased number of suicides, a theme shown in the Libra Ingress chart that runs until December 21, 2011. Venus square Mars is generally unfortunate for marriage so there may be increased cases of divorce and scandals, especially with Venus in the Eighth House. This aspect comes exact on the day of the New Moon and this is the closest applying aspect in the NM chart.

With no planets in the Third House, Venus is ruler, so the square to Mars also shows trouble in connection with Third House matters; communication, transport and travel. Venus is in a critical degree as well, another indicator for potential problems or urgent matters in these sectors.

Mercury rules the Fourth House. Due to its aspects, matters connected to land, property, buildings, mines, crops and agriculture suffer or give problems. Unemployment is high. Weather wise, temperatures are likely to be fluctuating and there may be gentle breezes to sudden high winds. Cool to rainy systems are suggested with Mercury and Uranus influencing the weather.

This New Moon emphasizes financial themes though not in a positive way as conditions are unstable and worrisome, which may contribute to volatile markets. This is a time for change however with this Scorpio New Moon and Pluto overhead in trine to Jupiter. There is the undertaking of grand plans and ambitious actions to improve the economy, though there are risks attached and the outcome depends on how realistic and well thought out these plans are.

The things shown in the New Moon chart often come to fruition at the Full Moon. The Full Moon occurs November 10, 2011 in Taurus, with the Moon on the cusp of the Second House opposing the Sun on the cusp of the Eighth House. Again, economic and financial matters are emphasized, and this Taurus Full Moon may be the trigger to set things off. Control issues could get in the way of progress and cooperation.

In your own chart, check the house where this New Moon at 3° Scorpio falls. The New Moon will energize and bring to the forefront the matters that are ruled by this house. These matters will attract your attention over the coming four weeks. You see potential for new starts connected with this department of life and new possibilities connected with the people associated with this house. You may be feeling especially ambitious and passionate about the new starts you wish to implement. Desires are intense but it would be easy to run into conflicts as a result of stubbornness. Avoid an urge to manipulate others or try to control them. For those with realistic goals and personal planets in Taurus, Virgo or Capricorn, the trine of Jupiter to Pluto may be an opportune time to launch a project that has good potential for growth over the long haul. For the rest, be careful of becoming overly self-assured about a plan based on wishful thinking. Late October to the beginning of November is not the best time to make important decisions due to Neptune aspects. Either the data coming in is apt to be flawed or unreliable, or plans are unrealistic. Don’t forget that Mercury goes retrograde on November 23/24, 2011, depending on your time zone. This is a time to be careful in speech, careful if traveling, and alert in general. See more about Retrograde Mercury. Hope you have a great month! Celeste Teal 10/24/2011
